RMG "I" (SG II), Scarlet and grey-black (S.G.179 group)
unused Single [SG2], short gash in Queen's ear, deep rich shades with just a trace of anilinity in the frame; suspicion of a faint diagonal crease, more obvious on the reverse than on the front, otherwise fine mint; a great rarity. Photo in colour

Note: This corresponds with lot 1425 in the Gibbs sale; it is an intermediate shade between RMG "H" and "I". From the "Hook without dot" printing [Zaayer H3], this is now termed SG II, so what appears to be the hook is now called a short gash; either way it is position 2 and, perforated 15. It is a very great rarity.
