Comprising coffee pot, cream jug, sugar bowl, sugar tongs, fifteen cup-holders, eighteen saucers, eighteen teaspoons and a tray; with twenty-two porcelain cups by Lenox; vase-shaped, with incurved corners, raised on four grotesque animal mask feet below acanthus decoration, the fluted corners headed by chased classical flower vases above an applied molded mid-band, each side with a foliate scroll cartouche enclosing the initial F and flanked by two winged putti terms issuing from acanthus scrolls, above foliate and fruit swags, the sweeping scroll handles headed by grotesque bearded masks, the teapot with faceted sweeping foliate scroll spout terminating in a bird's head, the hinged domed cover with amethyst finial, the U-shaped nippers with similar foliate decoration enclosing the same initial and with claw tips, the circular saucers and oblong tray with the same cartouche and winged putti terms at intervals enclosed by similar classical flower vases, the teaspoons stems with similar foliate scroll decoration enclosing the same initial above a grotesque animal mask, marked--height of coffee pot 10 3 /4in.--length over handles of tray 20 1/2in.; the porcelain cups with cobalt blue rim painted with gold foliage above a band of gold stylized foliage, on a white ground, maker's mark of Lenox

William Andrew Fisher (1886-1969) and his wife, Lura Titus Fisher (1884-1979), of Palmer Wood, Detroit. William A. Fisher, with his seven brothers, transformed their family carriage-building shop into the largest automobile body supplier in the world, the Fisher Body Corporation. He was second vice president of Fisher Body Corp. from 1923-1934, and a vice president and dircetor of General Motors Corporation which acquired Fisher Body Corp. in 1926.
