In two sections: the upper part with rectangular white marble cornice over a molded parcel-gilt frieze and a pair of glazed cupboard doors with foliate-case escutcheons enclosing a pair of shelves flanked by columns with elaborately milled gilt-metal capitals and bases; the lower part with rectangular molded top and inlaid geometric brass banding over a brass line-inlaid drawer with wreath and foliate-cast escutcheon flanked by cupid mounts enclosing a felt-lined hinged adjustable writing surface centered by small covered wells and compartments above columnar supports joined by a shelf with broad foliate brass banding, on acanthus-carved parcel-gilt paw feet painted in imitation of antique bronze--67in. high, 39 1/2in. wide, 22 1/2in. deep
