Lot Essay

A stamped pair of andirons made by brazier Daniel King is in the collection of the Winterthur Museum, and a bill of sale between King and John Cadwalader for brass andirons is at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (Nicholas B. Wainwright (PA, 1964), p. 38). A related pair stamped by Revere, but with different construction details, is illustrated in American Antiques from the Israel Sack Collection, vol. 3, 1970, no. 19, p. 716, pl. 3258.
