A nearly identical chest-of-drawers was sold by Christie's, New York, January 18, 1992, lot 453. Both objects relate to a labeled Levi Ruggles chest-of-drawers with dressing glass at the Winterthur Museum (see Charles F. Montgomery, American Furniture: The Federal Period (New York, 1966), p. 187, no. 144.
