The butter dish oval, raided on four criss-crossing feet formed as brandes, the rim formed of similar branches, the swinging cover with key joined by a chain and flat-chased with bands of foliate scrolls and trelliswork on a matted ground, with glass liner--8 1/2in. long; the bogie box, maker's mark of J.J. Peters & Co., formed as a covered tankard, the body engraved with a scroll and wrigglework band enclosing and oval foliate scroll and greek-key cartouche engraved with script initials TC, the interior with rolled wax wick--2 1/2in. high (2)
