Lot Essay

The mark of Francois Paul Malcher (b. 1751-d. 1810) appears in conjunction with another mark, DETROIT in a rectangle, on two spoons in the Detroit Institute of Arts. One of these spoons is described in Ross Allan C. Fox, Quebec and Related Silver at the Detroit Institute of Arts, 1978, p. 116.
