Baluster, on molded spreading circular foot, with molded rim and scroll handle, the front engraved with a coat-of-arms within a foliate scroll and rocaille cartouche surmounted by a crest, apparently unmarked--5 1/4in. high

Lot Essay

The engraved cartouche is based on the same design as that on a cann by John Coburn in the Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (illustrated in Kathryn C. Buhler, American Silver, 1972, fig. 265, p. 310).
