The bat is inscribed by Norman David and dated 4.12.1948, probably when it was presented to him by Hassett. Hassett studied accountancy after leaving Geelong College and his father found a position for him in the accountancy firm of his friends Arthur and Norman David (David & David Chartered Accountants, Geelong)
