Lot Essay

Author's presentation copy to Greg Chappell 'with great admiration', also signed by Chappell. A humorous account of Wellard, 1902-1980, who played 2 Tests for England, including against Australia in 1938 when he took the wickets of Hassett and Badcock. He also held the record, until broken by Sobers, of hitting the most sixes in one over. He twice hit 5 sixes, once in 1936 off Armstrong of Derbyshire and in 1938 off Frank Woolley
