'ROYAL SELF-OPENER' SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS BY HOLLAND & HOLLAND, No. 30834 (1) and 30860 (2), treble-grip actions with side-clips, hand-detachable locks, gold cocking-indicators, articulated front triggers, rolled-edge triggerguards, best bold foliate-scroll engraving with some hardening-colour, well-figured replacement stocks with leather-covered recoil-pads, the chopper-lump barrels with game-ribs
Weight 7lb. 11oz. (No. 1) and 7lb. 9½oz. (No. 2), 15in. pulls, 28in. barrels, both approx. I.C. & ¼ choke, 2 5/8in. chambers, nitro proof
The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed circa 1924 as a pair. Unusually, the guns were shot and patterned three times with 2½in., 2 5/8in. and 2¾in. cartridges prior to their despatch to New York sometime between 1924 and 1925
