The date of this watercolour is uncertain, however, it may relate to a drypoint of 1931, entitled 'The Shrimper', exhibited at London, Royal Academy, Sir William Russell Flint, 1962, no. 289. The dry-point originally had three figures of roughly equal size, all with shrimp nets bought at St. Malo, although the artist explained that 'after moiling and toiling for ages I chopped two of them off and developed the central figure only'
