An eighteen-plate russet iron bowl of crisp late work, black lacquered itamono small rounded neck guard (ko-manju shikoro) laced in dark blue sugake odoshi with gilt copper metal ornament, 19th century; Nara style mempo of iron lacquered with sabinuri; throat guard black lacquered and blue laced; hip guards (kusazuri) in kebiki style; medium shoulder guards (sode) of Mogami type black lacquered iron, blue laced; armoured sleeves (kote) in a form of rafts (ikada) and small round plates with pierced (sukashi mon); and shinguards (suneate) of Shino type, black lacqured iron, mid Edo period (18th century)
