A TURKISH YATAGHAN with single-edged blade of characteristic form inlaid in silver with panels of stylised foliage and with inscriptions 'made by Nuhán' together with the date, and 'for Hajji Asad Ahmed Agha', the forte covered with silver filigree, and border engraved silver-gilt hilt with central strap cast in imitation of fluted corals, in original cloth-covered wooden scabbard with deep silver-gilt locket and chape embossed and chased with townscapes, foliage and rococo ornament, the former with broad collar pierced with foliage in relief, and the latter with monster's head finial (cloth incomplete, gilding worn), dated 1792 AD
