A GERMAN HUNTING HANGER, the blade (originally etched) double-edged towards the point, cast and chased gilt-brass hilt (gilding worn, knuckle-guard missing) with small shell flanked by human heads, the grip with lion's head pommel, a grotesque mask behind, and decorated throughout with gadrooning and rocailles in relief, in original gilt-brass mounted black leather scabbard (chape replaced), the locket with double pocket for the by-knife and fork, the reeded gilt-brass handles each with eagle-head pommel and flattened back, the knife-blade struck with a mark, third quarter of the 18th Century; a silver-hilted small-sword (blade rusted in scabbard), the boat-shell hilt decorated with spiral gadrooning (knuckle-guard missing, rear quillon broken), the grip bound with twisted silver wire, in original leather-covered scabbard (incomplete) with silver locket and frog-hook, the latter struck with a mark; and a folding knife with curved blade ornamentally pierced on the back-edge at the forte and engraved with initials 'JD', chiselled blade-spring, and brass-mounted handle covered in horn plaques set with pierced and engraved brass panels, both late 18th Century 18¾in., 32¾in. and 10¾in. blades (3)
