A GERMAN PERCUSSION TARGET RIFLE, converted from flintlock, with massive swamped sighted octagonal barrel cut with six grooves and inlaid at the breech with silver scrolls and strapwork, signed stepped bevelled lock with sliding cover over the vent, walnut full stock, fluted fore-end flattened on the underside and mounted for a rest, the butt carved with flowers, scrolls and foliage and with cheek-piece on each side inlaid with an ebony and mother-of-pearl star, patch-box in the toe, brass mounts of shaped outline, set trigger (incomplete), brass fore-end cap, and brass-mounted ramrod (peep-sight missing, surface rust), by Anton Jacob(?) in Milheim, late 18th Century
