Dom Pérignon Brut, Rosé--Vintage 1982
Epernay
In individual boxes
A fairly deep salmon color - matching the smoked salmon served by Tim Kopec, at that time the brilliant sommelier of Montrachet in New York. Aromas foretell an enormous wine - doughy, buttery fruit, ripe and complex and wonderfully round on the palate; acid is subdued (almost drinks like a red wine); flavors of ruby grapefruit (with maraschino cherry, of course), freshly baked herb bread, and dried cherries. Outstanding. FH
