Lot Essay

The Palazzo Franchi was commissioned by Agostino de Franchi in the mid-1560s. The façade was, according to Soprani, decorated by Giovanni Battista Castello and he may well have also collaborated with Bernardino Cantone in drawing up the architectural plans
