the leaf a hand-coloured etching of elegant masked couples dancing at a Venetian ball, two dressed as figures from the Commedia del Arte, Pierrot and Punchinello, two others as an Indian King and an African King, with the band to the left and mustachioed guards at the two entrances, the verso with a hand-coloured etching of an interior with an elegant couple playing backgammon, three musicians, a couple dancing and four figures conversing, one with the backgammon players, and two dogs in the foreground, the ivory sticks carved and pierced with flowers and painted with birds and flowers - 27cm., English, circa 1750 (one fold split)
