the heavy two-train movement having twin verge wheels for the double foliot escapement, count-wheel strike and alarm on large diameter bell above, typical foliate engraved side doors, the dial with twice twelve Japanese chapter ring with finely sculpted blued single hand, alarm disc in the centre, similar foliate engraving to the spandrels above and below, the case decorated in black lacquer with gilt dragons, the domed top above four D-ended viewing apertures with latticed side doors below, on four moulded legs and square base
