AN UNUSUAL SILVER OPENFACE TWO-TRAIN HOUR AND HALF-HOUR CLOCKWATCH
unsigned, circa 1860s

the two-train key wind frosted gilt movement with hanging barrels, monometallic balance with cylinder escapement jewelled to the third, striking the hours and half-hours on a single gong, the drum-shaped white enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands, the plain case with cuvette with strike/silent lever in the band, the mechanism repeating on depressing a button in the pendant, with maker's stamp O. Cornut - 60mm. diam.
