the frosted gilt fusee movement with steel cylinder escapement and square baluster pillars, pierced cock with diamond endstone, under signed dust cover, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute divisions, gold beetle and poker hands, in plain gilt inner case (probably later), with plain gold outer case hallmarked London 1787, movement signed and numbered, dust cover signed - 52mm. diam.

Thomas Mudge born 1715, died 1794, free of the Clockmakers Company 1738, livery of the Clockmakers Company 1766, apprenticed to and worked for George Graham, one of the most eminent of English clockmakers.
