the frosted gilt three-quarter plate movement with bimetallic balance, flat blued steel hairspring with endcurves, engraved foot to the cock with ruby endstone, English lever escapement, jewelled to the centre with screwed chatons, the typical split second chronograph work planted on the top plate, with Nicole's winding system, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for running seconds and elapsed minutes, outer seconds ring with two sweep centre seconds operated by the crown and a second button in the band, the heavy plain case with maker's stamp HMF with presentation to the hinged cuvette, hallmarked London 1899, case and movement numbered, movement and dial signed - 55mm. diam.
