Pulchérie-Nicole, called Péky (1766-1847), second daughter of the Comte and the Comtesse de Genlis, was married in 1784 to Cyrus, Vicomte de Valence, later Comte and General (see lot 111). Their two surviving children were Félicie and Rose (see lots 102 and 109).

Signed miniatures by Hénard are very rare and the present miniature is a particularly attractive specimen of his work.
