Cyrus, Vicomte and later Comte Timbrune de Thiembronne de Valence (1757-1822), lover of the old Duc d'Orléans' morganatic wife Madame de Montesson, and married to her nièce's daughter, Péky de Genlis in 1784, was an homme à la mode under Louis XVI. Colonel of the Chartres-Dragoons regiment, he became General under the revolution but deserted in 1793 with the future King Louis-Philippe and General Dumouriez. Nevertheless, he was styled Sénateur and General under Napoleon. He took part in the Spanish and Russian campaigns.
