SWISS. AN 18 carat GOLD ONE MINUTE CHRONOMETER TOURBILLON OPENFACE WATCH
unsigned, possibly by Favre-Bulle, circa 1840

with three-bridge frosted and gilt movement, keywind with fusee and chain, one minute tourbillon carriage in polished steel with curved arms, spring detent escapement with gold 'scape wheel, bi-metallic compensation balance, overcoil spring, free sprung with florally engraved balance cock, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds and gold arrow hands set with pastes, plain case (No. 25846), glazed cuvette and reeded bezel- 53mm. diam.

Lot Essay

The layout of the movement in this watch is very similar to the work of Frederic Louis Favre-Bulle of Le Locle, born 1770, died 1849.
