A FRENCH GILT CHALICE AND PATENA
only struck with French boar's head, circa 1860

The standing chalice on pierced base, partly enamelled with edelweiss and blue cross, also engraved with coat-of-arms, the cast stem chased with foliage and angel busts, the cup applied with a band of alternate enamelled edelweiss and bunches of roses, corn, grapes and reeds, the plain patena just engraved with sacred monogram IGS surrounded with thornbush crown, the whole set in fitted leather case.
23.8 cm high, patena 14.5 cm diam.
