The centred medallions are in the style of Johann-Leonard Eyler's publication representing the twelve months, engraved by H. Böhlmann for the editor Weigel in Nürnberg around 1700 and another publication dated 1720.
The cartouche frame decorations are influenced by the creations of Jean Bérain Ist, by Abraham Drentwett the younger (activ 1696-1735), Johann-Jakob Baumgartner, around 1720.
Nürnberg used to work out objects in brass which would have been executed as well in silver following the projects of silversmiths engravings.
