Isabella II, daughter of King Ferdinand VII of Spain and his 4th wife Maria-Christina of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies, was born in 1830 and succeeded her father on the Spanish throne aged 3. After the regency of her mother, she was declared major in 1843 and married her cousin, the Infante of Spain Don Francis of Asis, three years later. Deposited by the Revolution of 1868, she abdicated in favour of her son, the future King Alphonse XII, in 1870, and lived exiled in Paris where she died in 1904.
