A fine portrait of André-Émile de Pavant as a young boy, with curly flowing brown hair, wearing a blue-green costume with pleated high white collar and set with rows of brass buttons; cloud and sky background; on vellum, oval -- 13.5 cm high, fine chased gilt bronze mount within a rectangular veneered lemonwood panel adorned with four pierced gilt bronze spandrels

Lot Essay

André-Émile Fourcault de Pavant (1810-1898), son of the Parisian notary André-Pierre Fourcault de Pavant and his wife Émilie-Augustine (see following lot). In 1836, he married his cousin Augustine-Henriette Breton.
