For a pair of these pug-dogs see Rainer R/uuckert, Meissener Porzellan, M/uunich 1966, pl. 268, nos. 1089/90 where he states that K/uandler modelled in May 1740 a M/uops "wie einer lieget und sich mit d. linken hinteren Pfote die Fl/uohe abscharret", the date on the collar which is earlier than the model most probably refers to the zear of birth of a pug in the Royal kennels
