The waqfnameh refers to an endowment made by Sultan Murad Khan b. Sultan Selim b. Sultan Sulaiman (Murad III, 1574-95) of a large complex for educational purposes. It is unusually detailed and lists all the buildings which included a grand mosque, college, hostel with kitchens and bath, library and twenty-two shops. It also details the number of staff employed together with the money to be paid them and states that Khusraw b. 'Abdullah (Khusrev Pasha) was appointed to manage the complex. Two of the final folios have his seal impression.

It is unusual to find such a document written in Persian and this may have been done because it refers to land so far east. Since the document also has no tastiq (official certification of authenticity), it is possible that, in spite of its high quality, it is a contemporary copy of a Turkish waqfnameh.
