manuscript on cream paper, 126ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 26ll. of extremely fine black naskh, gold clouds between the lines, punctuation in red, gold roundels heightened with colour between verses, gold margin between black rules, border of gold and polychrome flowering vine containing illuminated marginal medallion marking the divisions of text and marginal commentary in small black shikasteh within gold clouds, outer gold margin between black rules, sura headings in red on gold cartouches in illuminated panels, (negligible smudging and staining), opening bifolio painted gold and divided into 114 sections with the sura titles, following bifolio fully illuminated in gold and polychrome around the start of text (very light wear), final bifolio with panels of illuminated scrolling vine above and below the text, final folio with colophon signed by Ahmad al-Neirizi and dated 1122 (date slightly rubbed), fine black Zand lacquer binding painted with a dense bouquet of flowering plants including roses and iris within a narrow gold and black border, red lacquer doublures painted with a central floral medallion and pendants on a ground of dense gold scrolling vine in floral border, (light crackelure, small repairs), in brown leather slipcase
