dated 1584, possibly Hungarian, with town mark three towers in an oval, maker's mark WC
On circular spreading foot with stippled rim, cast and chased with masks, birds and fruit, the vase-shaped stem chased with three grotesque masks with openwork brackets above, the nut enclosed within crossed straps centering on masks with detachable vertical straps with lion's masks with drop rings between, the neck mount cast and chased with classical figures within an arcadian landscape, the rim engraved 'CASPARUS, HUEBER, ANNO, 1584', marked on foot, engraved under the base with scratch weight in German, with later similar detachable cover with figure finial - 21.5cm.
