A SWISS ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX
Geneva, circa 1800, maker's mark crowned "GGB"

Rectangular box with canted corners, the cover inset with an enamel miniature depicting a family scene, within a two-coloured scroll border chased with rosettes and shells framed by a blue enamel band, the sides and base with panels of translucent blue enamel on an engine-turned zig-zag ground, the base futhermore engraved with a rectangular panel of flowers coated with translucent orange enamel within a sky blue translucent enamel border; the canted corners engraved and enamelled with busts of Pharaos, the inside engraved with a motto of friendship -- 90 mm wide.
