Paris, 1774/1775, maker's mark indistinct, with the charge and discharge of Julien Alaterre, and the export discharge of Henry Clavel

Slightly tapering étui-à-cire of flattened cylindrical section, the cover and base chased with flutes and hung with laurel swags bordered by acanthus, the top with a patera, the base engraved with an accolé coat-of-arms beneath a coronet -- 120 mm high.
