Charles Ferrero-Fieschi, Prince de Masserano, capitaine des gardes du corps of the Kings Charles III and Charles IV of Spain, was known for his protection of French émigrés who had fled to Spain during the French Revolution. From 1805 to 1808, he was Spanish Ambassador in Paris. Joseph Bonaparte, when King of Spain, styled him grand maître des cérémonies. The Prince de Masserano died in Paris in 1837.
