A young lady and a gentleman, she in white dress with low-cut décolleté, high pleated collar and short puff-sleeves, a red shawl draped about her arms, her curly brown hair embellished with a pearl-studded comb; nocturnal landscape background; he (signed) with forward-combed brown hair, wearing a double-breasted blue coat over a salmon waistcoat and pleated white jabot; both rectangular -- each 81 x 67 mm, gilt-bronze mounts stamped with palmettes.
