A young lady called Madame de Launay, wearing a blue-grey changeant silk dress with white muslin fichu and matching belt, a double string of pearls entwined in her high-piled light brown curly hair -- 57 mm diam., gilt-metal frame with glazed silk reverse.

Lot Essay

A label on the back of the miniature identifies the sitter as Madame de Launay, and the artist erroneously as Pierre Chasselat.
