A young lady with high-piled grey-powdered long hair, wearing a white striped mauve riding dress with open white shirt and pleated jabot -- 63 mm diam., fine silver-gilt frame bordered by white enamel dots.

Lot Essay

Miniatures by this artist are extremely rare. Jacqueline du Pasquier (Pierre-Édouard Dagoty, 1775-1871, et la miniature bordelaise au XIXe siècle, Chartres, 1974, pp. 16, 27 note 7) mentions only one other specimen of Lonsing's work en miniature.
