"PERCY" A LARGE JEWELLED, ENAMEL AND SILVER-GILT MOUNTED CARVED BOWENITE MODEL OF AN ELEPHANT WITH HOWDAH

Realistically carved forming a replica of the Danish Order of the White Elephant, with gold-mounted diamond eyes, the extremity of the trunk set with two gold-mounted garnet cabochons, carrying a cylindrical howdah formed as a tower, enamelled in red and white triangles with a brick-work design, the upper border with scalework chevrons, banded by two rows of square cut garnetsand secured with a red guilloché enamelled girth hinged beneath and with trefoil attachment on either side of the howdah, enriched with white enamel, in original wood fitted case stamped Fabergé with the Imperial Warrant, St. Petersburg, Moscow - 22.5 cm high and 22.5 cm long
