with nickel-finished lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, precision regulator, 23 jewels, metal dust cover, the silvered matt dial applied with disc and Roman numerals, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and register for 30 minutes, outer ring calibrated for tachometer, circular case (No. 632746) with screw-on back and an inscription on the back, together with a stainless steel Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed- 35mm diam.

Lot Essay

It was in 1906 that Pedro Vargas saw the day in Mexico. Je was born an actor and a popular singer. However it was his voice that brought him international fame and recognition. Mr. Vargas was very much respected and appreciated by such world famous artists as Julio Inglesias, with whom he collaborated to create the record "Libra". His death in 1989 deprived Mexico of a cherished Ambassador of the Arts and the world of a talented and much loved singer.

The watch offered for auction was a gift from Radio Caracas to Pedro Vargas.
