MARIE-GABRIELLE CAPET, signed, circa 1790/1795
A fine miniature depicting Adélaïde Labille-Guiard seated on an ochre-upholstered gilt-wood chair, her powdered curly hair falling in long coils onto her shoulders, adorned with a knotted white muslin scarf with silk stripes, a long white ostrich feather and an aigrette tucked into her hairdress, a striped white muslin fichu knotted at the décolleté of her long-sleeved turquoise blue silk caraco over a white waist-sash -- 68 mm diam., gilt-metal frame.
