Two miniatures of dark-haired ladies, both half-length, facing each other, one seated, wearing a dove-blue dress with long puff-sleeves, a brown fur boa crossed over her décolleté, and rich jewelled gold ear pendants, her parted hair tied in thick rolls and in a plaited bun; the other in white dress, wearing a gold ferronnière, long jewelled gold ear pendants, and a chain with jewelled pendant, her parted hair elaborately dressed in plaited slings and a bun; both oval -- 98 and 88 mm high resp., the second one with artist's join to sinister; the first one in a fine gilt-bronze mount stamped with an acanthus border, the second one in a gilt-metal mount.
