Contemporary red morocco gilt BY DEROME LE JEUNE with his ticket in vol.I, the ARMS OF THE DAUPHIN on sides [this stamp not in Olivier], wide dentelle border of scrolling leaves, flowers and dolphins, spine with raised bands in 6 compartments, two with olive morocco lettering pieces, edges gilt, in two buckram boxes. Provenance: Philipp Schey de Koromla (bookplate).
Edition limited to 200 copies on papier vélin. A series of 72 plates by Tilliard were published to illustrate this work, but were only issued ten years after its first publication. This is evidently a copy bound up by the Derome workshop for presentation before the illustrations were available. Cf. Cohen-de Ricci 384 (2)
