Lot Essay

According to the Breguet books this watch was sold on 2nd June 1849 to Prince Demidoff, a high diginatry of the Tsar of Russia, for FF 1,850.
The Prince was a good client of Breguet and often purchased items for the Tsar.
Even though the case is only numbered P121 it appears that it is original since even the engraving is mentioned in the Breguet record books.
