4° (297 x 212mm). Letterpress half-title, engraved title, 3 leaves of text, 60 (of 62) hand-coloured engraved costume plates. Contemporary red half morocco, spine gilt, with the publisher's ticket, (extremities slightly rubbed).
The engraver Joly begun his career in the cavalry, but on his return to Paris he took up engraving. In this series of the cries of Paris only the last five plates are signed by Joly, the first 55 are by an anonymous artist 'A.B'. Two more plates, 61 and 62, only present in few copies, are signed Maleuvre. Colas 1552 (dating the series 1815).
