A CLOISONNE ENAMEL AND PARCEL-GILT MOUNTED ICON OF CHRIST PANTOCRATOR

Realistically painted and with a parcel-gilt oklad applied around the border with stylised vari-colour cloisonné enamel floral scrolls formed as an arch above two turquoise cloisonné enamel pillars, the halo of similar floral scroll enamel, the reverse with a silver-gilt presentation plaque -- 31.2 cm high

The Russian inscription on the reverse states that the icon was presented by the peasants of ... to the Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaievich on 30 July 1916.
