Guttenberg, Halbou, Helman, Langlois, Le Mire, Leveau, Lingé, de Longueil, Masquelier, Patas, Romanet, Simonet and Trière, 14 portraits by various artists, plus an additional 2 portraits and a folding plate showing the titles of Voltaire's editions inscribed on tablets. This suite comprises Moreau's engraved designs illustrating the great Kehl edition of Voltaire's works. Moreau published it himself, prefacing it with an engraved title-page, dedication leaf and portrait frontispiece, and adding extra portraits at the end. This series of plates is one of his masterpieces, and his "most ambitious project during the 1780s" (Ray). Cohen-de Ricci 1044-6; Ray French, 52.
