Picart, dedication with engraved head-piece, engraved portrait of the author by G. Valck after G. Kneller, 3 double-page engraved maps (on guards), 114 engraved plates (including 51 folding and 19 double-page), showing 271 subjects including views, flora and fauna, antiquities, costumes and several fine panoramas (subjects numbered 1-260, nos. 261-2 and 10 other images unnumbered), and 44 engraved illustrations in the text. (Lacking plate 12, wormtrack in lower margin affecting preliminaries, frontispiece and blank lower margin of portrait and first map, occasional clean tears to some folding plates.) Contemporary mottled sheep panelled in gilt with central ornament, spine gilt in seven compartments with red morocco lettering-piece (extremities slightly rubbed); sold not subject to return.

First edition in French of Le Brun's copiously illustrated Voyages. Le Brun, encouraged by the success of his Voyage au Levant (first published in Delft in 1698) began his journey to Moscow and Persia in 1701, returning to Holland in 1708.
